HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR FREESTYLE DECK ?

You want to get into freestyle? GREAT! First things first, don't ride freestyle on a street popsicle deck. Well, you can, but it makes things incredibly difficult whereas freestyle decks, as the name suggests, is made FOR freestyle tricks. Freestyle decks are usually smaller, with mellow or without concave to make footwork tricks easier. Baasically, all tricks are easier with freestyle boards.

There are tons of different freestyle decks in the market so, here is a little help to choose the right one.

Here at PutainSkateboards, we have 2 different kind of boards: SINGLEKICKS and DOUBLEKICKS. What does that mean?

- Single kicks boards have a flat nose and only a kicktail. These are the boards most of skaters used to ride back in the 80's. They make a lots of trick easier such as footwork tricks, caspers, 5050's, flamingos... They have an incredible oldschool look but with a shape that fits modern freestyle tricks.

- Double kicks are a good mix between modern skateboards but with a smaller size that is perfect for freestyle. Here at PutainSkateboards, we have 2 different sizes: 7,3" and 7,6", in same length: 28,8"

7,3" is the average size of a freestyle board, it is almost bi-directional (Same nose & tail), the only difference is that the tail is just a bit squarer on the edge.

7,6" is just a bit bigger for taller skaters with bigger feet. Same size of nose and tail as the 7,3.

They both have mellow concave to make the boards more rigid. Better for aggressive truck tricks, truck transfers and heavy tricks.

So, which one will you choose?
